About Scotwest

Scotwest is one of the largest credit unions in the UK, existing to provide safe, competitive and fair financial services to anyone that lives or works within the West of Scotland area.
Established since 1991, Scotwest is committed to providing the highest standard of member service at all times.

Our Membership

Scotwest offers a range of financial products and services to anyone who lives or works in the West of Scotland.  As a financial co-operative, anyone opening a savings account, taking out a loan or a mortgage with us becomes a member. Scotwest is owned by its members and they have a say in the development and direction of the organisation.

Governance

The Scotwest Board of Directors is an elected group of members who are responsible for the long-term strategic direction, development and success of Scotwest.
They report to the membership at the Annual General Meeting. The Board meets on a monthly basis to monitor Scotwest's progress and operational success together with the senior management team. They also help to shape the future and on-going strategies required for the continued success of Scotwest.

Becoming an Elected Officer

We would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in helping with the continued development and success of Scotwest by becoming a member of the Board.
Elections for officers take place at the Annual General Meeting each year with nominations invited in advance. Once elected, Board members can remain in post for a period of three years. After this time they can stand for re-election.
For all Directors, Approved Person's Authorisation has to be obtained from the Financial Services Authority. This requires the completion of an application document providing personal and employment details. Scotwest can assist in the completion of the form.
